Role overview

As Site Supervisor, you will play a critical role in the on-site coordination and supervision of mechanical and/or electrical installation works. Working closely with the Site Manager and project team, you’ll ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with practical experience in renewable energy, civil or electrical construction, and team leadership on live construction sites.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Supervise daily work activities of site operatives and subcontractors
  • Monitor and enforce site health & safety compliance (toolbox talks, PPE, method statements)
  • Review and implement RAMS for daily tasks and escalate non-conformance
  • Coordinate with Site Manager and Lead Installers to ensure timely progress of works
  • Conduct quality inspections on mechanical or electrical installations (depending on discipline)
  • Maintain accurate site records, daily diaries, and photo logs
  • Ensure materials and tools are available, delegated, tracked and safely stored
  • Support the management of deliveries and logistics on site
  • Attend daily site briefings and contribute to lookahead planning
  • Promote a clean, organised and productive work environment
  • Assist in snagging and close-out processes
  • Use cloud-based storage and reporting systems to log documentation and updates daily

Experience

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role on construction or solar PV projects
  • Good knowledge of ground mount PV systems and associated installation processes (desired)
  • Comfortable interpreting construction drawings and technical documents
  • Strong awareness of site health & safety regulations 
  • Good communication and leadership skills – able to motivate and guide site teams
  • Experience working with subcontractors and external stakeholders
  • Full UK driving licence 
  • Confident using spreadsheets, cloud-based storage systems, and digital reporting tools
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive), or similar systems 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) – essential
  • First Aid (3-day) – preferred
  • Electrical or mechanical trade background – beneficial
